FSCA General Meeting Minutes

Opening remarks (Matt Nelson)

Treasurer’s report (Mark Dombroski)- 347 members, 3 new members for this month; working balance is $40,693. Discussed new bills and checks going out.

Old Business

Treasurer’s report acceptance– Thomas McGoldrick made a motion to

     accept treasurers report, Kerry Garceau seconded the motion; passed.

2. Minutes acceptance- Thomas McGoldrick made a motion to accept

     minutes, Kerry Garceau seconded the motion; passed.

3. FAA Unity Weekend (Bishop Wright)- Biggest crowd in attendance,

     approximately 400 people; 45 tables sold with five reserved.  Overall, a successful event.

4. JW Corbett 10-Year Plan Meeting (Matt Nelson)- Good participation overall. Open communication produces good information for the future.
5. FSCA Youth Python Hunt (Bishop Wright)- Discussed the need for more volunteers for future hunts. 9 snakes total were removed. Thank you to Bishop and all volunteers!
6. NWTF Meeting (Paul Hickman)- FWC in attendance. Discussed rule changes being considered.

New Business

1. Hunters Safety Instructor Class 8/20 (Thomas McGoldrick)- 8/20 is the first part of the course at the FWC office at 6:30pm. Class will be held at the FWC office on Northlake. 4 Saturdays (8/24, 9/14, 10/12, 11/30) available for shadowing (second part) at the shooting sports complex in Loxahatchee.
2. Pre-Hunting Season Meeting 8/27 (Matt Nelson)- This meeting will replace the FSCA board meeting for the month of August. Great place to open communication about upcoming hunting season.
3. Indian River Club Clay Shoot 10/5 (Matt Nelson)- Discussed FSCA sponsoring a team for the shoot.
4. Youth Day 2025 2/1/25 (Terrilynn Boatwright)- I had a conference call last week and got more volunteers on board. Letters for sponsors are ready to be sent out. We discussed putting up banners for easier flow of the event. Discussed changing where some things will be set up. Beginning to finalize decisions and jobs. Discussed the need for volunteers to help with airboats.
5. LOAA Airboat/Buggy Show 2/22/25 (Matt Nelson)- Held at the Agricultural Center on 70/710 in Okeechobee.
6. NWTF/FSCA Banquet (Thomas McGoldrick)- Held May 17^th, 2025. Discussed the budget to start ordering supplies. Discussed pushing for table sales over single attendance. Discussed table price options. Discussed items to raffle and auction.

7. Items Not on the Agenda- Discussed updates on the pavilion in Kissimmee River. Discussed Grassy Island workday.
