FSCA Board Meeting Minutes 7/22/25 7:30 pm

Opening remarks (Mark Dombroski)- HAPPY BIRTHDAY KERRY GARCEAU!

Treasurer’s report (Mark Dombroski)– 493 members (+30), Discussed incoming money from Unity weekend. Discussed a donation made in memory of Travis Frederick and received a check from the FAA to go towards the club trailer. All three grants from last year were awarded, totaling approximately $10,000. Discussed various account balances, working balance is $65,122.68. 

Old Business

1. Treasurer’s Report Acceptance – Joe Rabena made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report, and Johnny Escobar seconded the motion; the motion
2. Minutes Acceptance – Mark Dombroski made a motion to accept the minutes report. Joe Rabena seconded the motion; it
3. Trailer Lettering and Logo + Sponsors Listed (Mark Dombroski)- Discussed the need to start thinking about which sponsors we would like to include on the trailer when it is fixed up.
4. Finalize Tree Stand Order (Bishop Wright)- Discussed the need to get pricing for at least two single and two double tree stands for Istapoga.

 

New Business

1. 2026 Clay Shoot Form (Joe Rabena)- A new form has been made for next year’s event. Discussed possibly using a website for an electronic form. Discussed challenges with receiving the form to completion before the event.
2. RSO Certification (Pete Lumb) – Class dates will be 9/13 or 9/14. FWC is permitted to use the range outside of Corbett. Additionally, we may also use the Youth Camp for the class.
3. Discuss Email from Erin Kelly (Joe Rabena)- Discussed an email received requesting interviews with members of FSCA. Contact has been made and requesting information on topics.
4. Insurance Quotes (Mark Dombroski)- Discussed DNO insurance- protects personal assets of all officers if brought into litigation, discussed the possible insurance needs or non-needs with future events.
5. Future Posts (Joe Rabena)- Discussed posts added on the website, sharing future information and events.
6. Youth Hunt Banquet 8/15/25 5 pm (Bishop Wright)- Event for landowners and youth hunters, and will be held in Ocala. Will be discussed in future meetings.
7. FWC Commission Meeting 8/13-8/14 (Thomas McGoldrick)- Looking for volunteers to go to the meeting in Havana near Tallahassee. Speakers will be allowed during the meeting. The final vote will be held for the proposed options.
8. Youth Python Hunt (Bishop Wright)- 8 kids planned to attend the hunt. Dinner is held on Friday night at 5pm; fishing will be on Saturday.
9. Future General Meeting Location (Thomas McGoldrick) – Proposed location at 630 Union Hall; they requested a $100 insurance fee to use their insurance.
10. Items not on the Agenda- Discussed Corbett changes for the 2025 hunting season.
