FSCA volunteers participated in “Operation Deer Feed” in Water Conservation Area III, taking native vegetation to starving deer stranded on islands during flood conditions. An important component of this project involved transporting elected officials and the news media into flooded areas to educate them as to the plight of the wildlife in the area. Additionally, uncovering the flaws in the water management system that contributed to the devastation.
